This in-person two-day workshop will offer participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the abstract realm. Artist Lydia Panart will go through the steps to create an abstract painting from the conceptual idea to the final resolution.

Finding inspiration from aerial photographs of natural landscapes, Lydia will teach students to explore a couple of ideas for abstract compositions. The goal is to achieve 2 individual artworks or a diptych using different techniques with brushes & palette knives. Emphasis will be placed on the paint/media layering process.

Through visual explanations and supporting material, Lydia will be guiding the class in composition, colour, contrast/transitions, etc., including painting technique demonstrations over the course of both days. Lydia will be offering one-on-one feedback and group discussions to enrich everyone's experience.

This program is suitable for those with some painting experience.
