Join artist Dominik Modlinski as he shares the stories behind his paintings and creative process. Following in the traditions of countless Canadian historical artists, Modlinski's journeys through the wilderness help inspire his en plein air works through the majesty of nature.

Inspired by an astute reading of the artist’s oeuvre by McMichael Executive Director Ian Dejardin, this virtual tour invites viewers to explore the groundbreaking painting technique of Tom Thomson, the ultimate Canadian modernist landscape painter. Based on the exhibition stills, the tour will present several of the artist’s large canvas and en plein air sketches, which reveal the artistic brilliance of Thomson who, through bold experimentation, was able to achieve powerful artistic maturity in a such short time
