Led by Emily Pleasance, an artist and certified Nature & Forest Therapy Guide, this program is designed to help you slow down, drop into the body, and better connect with yourself and the natural world. Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, Forest Therapy draws on the interconnectedness humans have with our natural environment. Through embodiment and relaxation practices, it will teach you how to see nature as a supportive resource.

Distinguished Canadian mezzo-soprano Julie Nesrallah returns to the McMichael for an evening of Italian songs and music echoing the scenery of James Wilson Morrice paintings in the exhibition Morrice in Venice.

This concert is also celebrating the rich artistic legacy of Italy during Italian Month in Ontario.

Join curators Sandra Paikowsky and Sarah Milroy as they discuss the special exhibition Morrice in Venice. Morrice looked at the historic city of Venice with contemporary eyes, making the monumental intimate through glimpses of buildings and canals, streets and bridges all seen through a distinctive modernist lens.

An intensive weekend of study in oil painting technique. Artist Judy Sherman will cover a wide range of painting skills and topics, including how to understand values, composition, colour, shape, form, lighting, brush technique and much more. Through demonstrations, painting exercises, and one-on-one feedback, students will learn to view and analyze the world as a visual artist.
