Curatorial Talk: Old Growth

Celebrate the opening of Old Growth: Masterworks by the Group of Seven and their Contemporaries with a special curatorial talk that offers fresh insight into some of the McMichael's most iconic works.

Matinée francophone : Racines profondes
Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
Journey with us through the forests of Algoma, the peaks of the Rockies and the Arctic tundra on a guided French tour of some of the McMichael's most iconic and enduring treasures. This exhibition features masterworks by canonical artists such as Tom Thompson, Lawren Harris, Emily Carr, A.Y. Jackson and J.E.H. MacDonald.
Our tour will be followed by coffee and light snacks.
Oil Painting Weekend with Judy Sherman
An intensive weekend of study in oil painting technique. Artist Judy Sherman will cover a wide range of painting skills and topics, including how to understand values, composition, colour, shape, form, lighting, brush technique and much more. Through demonstrations, painting exercises, and one-on-one feedback, students will learn to view and analyze the world as a visual artist.

Tafelmusik Family Concert: Music Tells a Story
Join a quartet of musicians from Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra for a special, family-friendly performance. After the concert, you'll have the chance to see and explore the instruments up close. Come join the story!
